NAESV Participates in White House School Safety Event

NAESV Interim-President Monika Johnson Hostler was one of a select group of individuals invited to participate in the White House Conference on School Safety on October 10. Gathering together stakeholders from education, justice and others the meeting was called in response to the recent incidents of violence occurring in schools across the country.

"Participating in the White House Conference is an excellent opportunity to engage key stakeholders and build understanding as to the true nature of the heinous acts that occurred in Pennsylvania and Colorado," stated Hostler. "These attacks targeted girls, not boys, and were perpetrated by sexual predators who felt that schools were easy targets. It is my hope that a thoughtful dialogue will occur that results in strategies to avoid these type of crimes happening in the future."
